School Wide Positive Behaviour
At St Augustine's School Maryborough, we take an instructional approach to behaviour that assumes that children will have different experiences and skills in relation to behaviour, as they do with literacy and numeracy. Our school uses this positive behaviour framework with an acronym of STAR.
Stay Safe
Take Pride
Act Justly
Respond Positively
Each classroom has their own STAR of norms that the children can follow. We aim to be fair and consistent to establish a safe, orderly, positive classroom environment in which everyone can learn. At St Augustine's we have high expectations for all the behaviour of students. We understand, as is the case in academic learning, that individuals will require different teaching in order to achieve behavioural learning success.
